Job description
About Ornn
Ornn is building the financial infrastructure for AI compute. Our price indices are live on Bloomberg Terminal. We structure and trade compute hedging instruments. And we're building products that make compute capacity easier to price, finance, reserve, and trade. We're a lean team in New York, backed by leading venture and strategic investors.
About the Role
Ornn Data includes the Ornn Compute Price Indices on the Bloomberg Terminal, forward curves, provider and data center coverage, and analytics delivered through data.ornn.com and our API. Your job is to get that data into the hands of the people who need it, and to bring new data sources in.
You will work closely with our head of markets, the data engineering team, and our researchers. This is a full-cycle role: finding the right customers, running demos and trials, closing subscriptions and data partnerships, and making sure customers get value after they sign.
What You'll Do
Build and run a pipeline of data customers across funds, banks, trading firms, lenders, neoclouds, data center operators, and AI companies.
Run discovery calls, demos, and trials, and show customers how Ornn's indices, forward curves, and analytics answer their questions.
Close data subscriptions, enterprise licenses, and API deals, and own renewals and expansion.
Reach out to new signups on data.ornn.com, understand what they are trying to do, and convert the right ones into paying customers.
Source and negotiate data partnerships with providers and operators who contribute transaction and pricing data, often in exchange for access to Ornn's data.
Bring customer feedback back to the product and research teams and help decide what we build next.
Represent Ornn at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings.
Keep the CRM accurate and report clearly on pipeline, revenue, and what is working.
What We're Looking For
Requirements
Experience selling data, analytics, research, or software to financial institutions, technical buyers, or infrastructure companies.
A track record of building pipeline and closing deals, ideally at an early-stage company or in a new category.
Strong commercial instincts and comfort negotiating pricing, licensing terms, and partnerships.
Enough technical and quantitative fluency to understand how an index is built and explain it credibly to a trader or an engineer.
Excellent written and verbal communication.
Energy, persistence, and comfort working without a playbook.
Nice-to-Haves
Experience at a market data, index, or financial information company such as Bloomberg, S&P Global, ICE, LSEG, PitchBook, or AlphaSense.
A background in trading, research, investment banking, or consulting.
Existing relationships with funds, banks, commodity traders, or infrastructure lenders.
Knowledge of GPUs, cloud or neocloud markets, data centers, or energy.
Why This Role Matters
Every new customer that relies on Ornn's data makes the index more valuable, and every new data partner makes it more accurate.
You will be the person who makes Ornn Data the default source for compute pricing, and you will help build a recurring revenue line that grows with the market itself.
Compensation and Benefits
Benefits include competitive salary, meaningful equity, health coverage, free meals, and additional benefits. This is a high-ownership commercial role with significant influence over how Ornn Data is packaged, priced, and sold.
Equal Opportunity Statement
Ornn is committed to building a diverse team. We evaluate candidates based on their ability to do the work, not on pedigree or background. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences.
