Web3 developer job description template
A web3 developer job description works best with seven parts: a short company intro, what the developer will do, the requirements, the nice-to-haves, the benefits, the salary range and how to apply. That is the order most engineering job posts on Jobs Web3 already follow.
The figures in this guide come from 648 engineering listings on Jobs Web3 in October 2026, 624 of them with a full description we could read.

How to write each section
Title. Name the level, the layer and the stack. The most common words in engineering titles on the board are software (221), security (83), platform (66), data (60) and backend (59). Only 15 titles say "blockchain".
Requirements. List what the role cannot do without. Python appears in 43% of these posts, AWS in 28%, Java in 27%, Kubernetes in 26%, CI/CD in 24% and SQL in 24%. Chain-specific skills are rarer: smart contracts 8%, EVM or Ethereum 7%, Solidity 2%. If your role is mostly backend work with some on-chain parts, say so.
Soft skills. Most posts ask for collaboration (74%), ownership (60%) and communication (58%). Write one concrete line instead, for example "you will review contracts with our auditors".
Benefits. The most mentioned are health insurance (41%), equity or stock options (39%), flexible or remote-first work (37%) and a pension or 401(k) (29%). Only 1% mention a token grant. If you offer tokens, explain the vesting and valuation.
Location. 52% of the engineering listings are remote. If yours is remote within certain countries or time zones, write them in the location line, not further down.
"First I check whether I can apply from where I live, and whether languages other than English are required. Then I want the details of the offer, with no frills or embellishment."
Where to publish it
On Jobs Web3, post a web3 job for $129 for 30 days. It appears next to the other web3 and crypto jobs on the board. The form asks for one to three required skills and the languages the role needs. Only candidates whose profile lists them can apply, and the applicants you get are ranked by how well their skills, languages and location match the role. Preferred skills improve the ranking without blocking anyone. Candidates declare their own skills, which Jobs Web3 does not check: confirm them in the interview.
