Web3 jobs with no experience

Web3 jobs with no experience exist, but the pool is small: on Jobs Web3, in October 2026, 148 of 2,462 open listings (6%) are tagged junior or internship. None of them says "no experience required", yet two in three never state a minimum number of years, which is the real opening for a first job.

Are web3 jobs in demand?

Yes, but mostly above entry level: of the open listings, 1,100 are mid-level and 545 senior, against 148 entry roles. Entry listings did grow week on week, from 24 new ones to 35, though one week is too short to call a trend. Filter the board by seniority to find web3 jobs at your level as they come in.

Is it hard to get a job in crypto without experience?

It is hard mainly because the entry pool is narrow and concentrated:

  • 6% of the board. 82 listings are tagged junior and 66 are internships.
  • A few large employers. 54 companies post them, but Coinbase alone has 32 and the top five have 69, close to half.
  • Mostly in an office. 31 of the 148 are remote (21%), against 37% across the whole board. For internships it falls to 5 of 66.
  • A few countries. The United States has 67 listings, Singapore 20, the United Kingdom 9 and Malaysia 7.

62 of the 82 junior listings have "Associate" in the title, such as "Sales Associate" or "Client Services Associate". Some are true starting roles; others expect a year or two in a related field. Read the requirements, not only the label.

What do entry-level web3 jobs ask for instead of experience?

We read the descriptions of all 148 listings and searched them for common requirements. The phrases were matched automatically, so treat the shares as approximate.

What the description mentionsListingsShare
No minimum years of experience9866%
A degree, university or studies8658%
Being a current student4027%
Crypto, blockchain, web3 or DeFi13692%
A portfolio, GitHub, open source, side project or hackathon3826%
"Entry level", "early career", "new grad" or "graduate"2920%
Exactly "no experience"00%

Where a minimum is stated, it is usually low: 3 listings say 0 years, 9 say 1 year and 20 say 2 years. 18 ask for 3 years or more, even with a junior label.

The usual substitute for experience is a degree in progress or just completed, plus visible interest in crypto. Only a quarter ask for a project to show.

How to get a web3 job as a beginner with no experience

Start with the roles that hire most at this level. Among the 148, the most frequent tags are Operations (24), Engineer (17), Python (14), Sales (8) and Compliance (7).

Treat internships as the main door, and apply early. Internships are 66 of the 148 listings and are mostly on-site or hybrid. Large programs recruit a season or more ahead, so check the crypto internships page well before the term you want.

Show crypto knowledge in writing. 92% of the descriptions mention crypto, blockchain, web3 or DeFi. A short note in your application on a product you use, or a market you follow, answers that directly.

Build one thing you can link. A small project, a GitHub repository, a hackathon entry or a written analysis puts you in the quarter of applicants the description is looking for.

Fill in your profile skills honestly. On jobs posted directly on Jobs Web3, only profiles with the required skills and languages can apply.

Set an alert instead of checking daily. A saved search for junior or internship roles, set up as a free job alert (one of the features for candidates), emails new ones each day.

"Being actively involved in web3, and knowing what it really is, certainly helps. I started my career as a translator, and since I had been investing in bitcoin for a while, I already knew the terminology well. My first job was as a subcontractor, working with eToro on their newsletters."

Can I work in web3 without knowing how to code?

Yes. Engineering is a minority of entry roles: 17 of the 148 carry the Engineer tag. The rest are spread across operations, compliance, sales, finance, accounting, trading and analysis, mostly at exchanges, trading firms and miners.

Do entry-level web3 jobs pay well?

In October 2026, 51 of the 146 entry-level listings published pay. The 19 junior roles with an annual range in US dollars had a median midpoint of about $110,000; internships quote hourly rates. Pay across all levels is on web3 salaries.

Can I get a web3 job without a degree?

Yes: 62 of the 148 entry listings (42%) never mention a degree, university or studies. The other 58% do, so a degree in progress, or just completed, opens the most doors.

Web3 jobs for freshers and students

Outside the four countries above, entry roles for freshers are rare: in October 2026, India had 5, all associate roles in compliance, client onboarding and finance at Galaxy in Mumbai and at FalconX.

International students and freshers abroad have fewer options: in October 2026, 30 of 145 entry listings were remote, and only 7 of those named no country. A remote listing that names a country usually needs you to live there; how to find a remote web3 job shows how to read the location line.
