How much do web3 jobs pay?

Web3 jobs that publish a salary pay a median of about $195,000 a year, measured at the midpoint of each range, across 700 listings on Jobs Web3 with an annual range in US dollars in October 2026. Half of those ranges have a midpoint between $161,000 and $225,000.

Those numbers describe the jobs that show pay, not the whole market: 823 of 2,431 open listings (34%) publish a range, and one company, Coinbase, posts close to a quarter of them.

How much do web3 jobs pay by seniority?

Midpoints of annual US dollar ranges, with the number of listings and of companies behind each row:

LevelListingsCompaniesMedian midpointMiddle half
Junior1915$110k$93k to $125k
Mid-level25359$166k$140k to $203k
Senior20045$192k$166k to $208k
Lead12630$225k$186k to $249k
Director and above10241$233k$196k to $268k

Pay rises with seniority, and each row rests on 15 to 59 companies. Internships are missing from the table: the ones that show pay quote an hourly rate.

Does web3 pay well?

For the roles that publish a range, yes: the lowest minimum is $10,000 and the median minimum is $170,000. Two facts keep that from being a market average.

One company posts the most. Coinbase posts 188 of the 823 ranges (23%). Coinbase, Ripple and Polymarket together post 293 (36%). Without Coinbase, 581 annual US dollar ranges from 79 companies remain, and the median midpoint moves only from $195k to $191.5k. At senior level: $192k with Coinbase, $188.5k without.

Most ranges are American. 628 of the 700 annual US dollar ranges are for roles in the United States, so these figures say little about Europe or Asia.

Do remote web3 jobs pay less?

Not in the published ranges. The median midpoint is $196k for 319 remote listings, $182k for 120 hybrid and $198k for 261 on-site.

Why don't more web3 jobs show a salary?

Because few places require it. New York City requires a good-faith minimum and maximum in ads for jobs performed there, and in the non-technical sample 173 of the 447 ranges are for roles in New York (see non-technical web3 jobs). Where no rule applies, most companies leave pay to the interview.

What a published range does not tell you

  • It is an offer band, not a pay stub. Companies publish what they are prepared to pay; the final number depends on the candidate.
  • Tokens, equity and bonuses are left out. In web3 they can be a large part of the package, or none of it. All 823 ranges are in fiat (mostly US dollars, plus euros, Canadian dollars, pounds, UAE dirhams, Indian rupees and Singapore dollars), and none says what share is paid in crypto.
  • The period matters. 32 ranges are hourly and one is monthly; they are not in the figures above.

"Do not hesitate to negotiate. At my last job, at a Chinese exchange, I first received a ridiculous offer. I was about to give up, but I decided to negotiate instead. In the end I got a good hourly rate, much higher than the one first offered."

Xavier Montemurro, founder of Jobs Web3

How to use these numbers

Compare a range with others at the same level and in the same country, never with the overall median. Ask early whether the range covers base pay only, and how tokens or equity are valued.

For live figures by role, region and seniority, use the web3 salaries page, where each figure shows how many listings it comes from; the non-tech salaries page applies the same method to other roles. To see only listings that publish pay, use the salary filter on the job board.

What is the average web3 salary?

On the 700 annual US dollar ranges published on Jobs Web3 (October 2026), the median midpoint is about $195,000 a year. The live web3 salaries page recalculates its own figure every few hours and includes ranges converted from other currencies, so the numbers can differ slightly.

How much do entry-level web3 jobs pay?

19 junior listings publish an annual range in US dollars, with a median midpoint of about $110,000. Internships that show pay quote an hourly rate. What entry roles ask for instead of experience is in the guide to web3 jobs with no experience.

Do web3 developers earn more than other roles?

A little: the 197 engineering ranges, from 48 companies, have a median midpoint of $202,500, against $195,000 for all roles. The web3 developer salary page shows the live figure and its sample size.
